Sumitomo Corporation Global Commodities Ltd (SCGC), a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, is active in the precious metals, base metals and energy markets, through its head office in London, branch in Singapore and subsidiary in NY. SCGC was established in 2006 to take over the commodity trading activities of Sumitomo Corporation Europe.

Precious Metals

Among our business lines, the precious metals desk has the longest history. Sumitomo Corporation has been trading precious metals since the early 80s. We quote spot and forward prices and leases in all precious metals - gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium - for customers and can arrange physical deliveries worldwide. SCGC's Base Metals Desk began operations in October 2007. Our trading operation is centred in London to best coordinate activities on the London Metal Exchange and the COMEX in New York. The metals we deal with include aluminium, copper, secondary aluminium alloy, zinc, nickel, lead and tin.

Our marketing efforts focus on North America and Europe where we deal with a growing list of producers, consumers and warehouse operators. SCGC's activity frequently involves different types, locations and grades of physical metal. In addition, many of our transactions combine innovative pricing solutions with financing, often tailored to individual client requirements.

SCGC also handles Energy Derivatives such as crude oil, oil products, natural gas and carbon emissions.
